First, you should know, that there is only very little information to go by for this period. Because there are no notations on Kitchens for the 1700s. if you wonder why? Well because for instance Brooklyn's first houses, from those Dutch immigrants, of the late 1600s or early 1700s, had no genuine kitchen concept as we think of it today.
Integrated in 1652, the Wyckoff Farmhouse in East Flatbush has a fireplace, in which food was prepared over the open fire, awaited pots, roasted on spits, or baked in the ashes. Meals and containers of water or other beverage were kept close by in freestanding hutches, or on racks.
