Self-improvement does not have bounds and knows no age or gender. Whoever you are and in whatever age you are in your life, you can continue to strive to improve yourself in various ways. Training the Mind for Continuous Improvement
In a sense, man is naturally wired to want to be better and more powerful. Darwin�s evolutionary theory of survival of the fittest, for one, puts forth the thinking that only the best and strongest of the species will survive and succeed. The desire to be better than others has been ingrained in people since childhood. Psychosocial factors, however, affect how this desire manifests in day to day living.
In more practical terms, the desire for continuous improvement and building skills could take a backseat due to various reasons. It could be because of personal feelings (i.e. insecurity, fear, low self-esteem, past trauma, etc.). Some would be alright with where they are comfortable They would rather feel safe right where they are and doing what know they do best at present. Consciously shifting from this �stagnant� mindset towards a continuous self improvement mindset will allow you to evolve and grow to lead a more purposeful and enjoyable life.
Self-Awareness and Being in Touch with Your Emotions
Being in this new mindset starts with knowing yourself � from your characteristic, thoughts, feelings, and actions to your aspirations, motivations, challenges, and drivers. Put together a detailed profile of yourself. Dig deep into your heart and mind. Then, you can pinpoint particular areas that you need to improve on. Since you are in touch with your mental and emotional reactions, you can navigate through your hurdles that could block your way towards improving yourself.
Don�t be afraid to discover your weaknesses and don�t feel like you need to hide your shortcomings. Trite as it might seem, nobody is perfect. There is beauty in imperfection because it means that there is room for you to evolve and metamorphosize. You need to acknowledge these in order to take steps to become a better version of yourself. Love yourself despite these �flaws� and know that you have the power to step up, install enhancements, and turn these into strengths.

When you adopt the mindset for continuous improvement, you will start noticing a lot of positive changes in your life. You start understanding yourself better, deal with your emotions more effectively, enjoy more meaningful relationships, and generally go from day to day with purpose. You are more motivated and driven to be better so you can achieve your goals. You feel good about yourself and become more optimistic about what lies ahead in your journey.
In your journey towards self improvement, remember that you are a work in progress. You continuously seek ways to make yourself a better person in the various aspects of your life. Strengthen your desire to learn and discover new things about yourself and everything around you. Make the necessary tweaks in your current state to let go of what�s not quite effective for you and to take on new ideas and practices that will propel you to optimal performance and success.
