Greetings from Team Henderson!
We hope you're safe and well. With everything happening in the world right now, your stress level must be through the roof. You might even find it hard to focus on work and be productive while working from home.
Don't worry—we get it! It's hard to go on with your normal work routine when you're suddenly forced back into your home. After all, work is for the office and rest and recreation is for the home. So how do you remain productive when you're surrounded by all your creature comforts?
Tip #1: Dress for Work.
You might think it's nice that you can finally work in your PJs, but it's better to scrap the idea. You might think that dressing up for work when you're just at home is ridiculous, but it's actually a great way to set your mind into work mode.
When you dress up as you normally would when you'd go to the office, your brain will subconsciously perceive it as you going to work, which will reflect on your productivity level. After all, pushing off tasks and going back to bed is so much easier when you're wearing comfy PJs than a crisp shirt and pants.
Tip #2: Create a Dedicated Workstation.
The goal for this tip is to create a place where you can work with minimal distractions. Don't work in your bedroom where you can see your bed. Don't work in the living room where you can see your TV and gaming consoles, either.
If your space doesn't allow you to be choosy about your workstation, you can create visual separations in lieu of walls. Think curtains, potted plants, or even a propped-up whiteboard that can remove distractions from your peripheral vision.
Tip #3: Use and Follow a To-Do List.
Sometimes you're swamped with tasks that you don't know which one to finish first. In the end, you're left with several half-finished tasks and frustration.
The best way to counter this is to create a list of your tasks. Decide which one is the most difficult, and start on that one before starting the rest.
It might be tempting to put the more challenging tasks on the backburner, but putting them off won't make them easier. It's better to get the crucial tasks out of the way first so you can relax a little while finishing the more menial tasks.
We're sure that these three tips will help boost your productivity while working from home! But do you want to know a secret? We have more tips on how to boost your online career that we can share with you!
