Celebrating 9 Years of Giangi's Kitchen

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, I do not think this blog will be quite that long, but it does indeed start with a picture.
As a reflect on those days, I cannot help but shake my head in wonder. I had no recipes to speak of, and no pictures of food either (which is why I used a picture of myself!).

I was scared and excited at the same time. Who would read my recipes? Better yet, who would prepare them? I remember my heart racing when I finally found the courage to click "post" for the first time. I hoped that the blog would be the start of something fun and big, but I had no idea what to expect.

Little by little, new visitors started stopping by. I cannot put into words how exciting and amazing it was to see the numbers go up. The "someone is reading my blog!" happy dance is what comes to mind.

Nine years ago, things were so different. Back then, there were few places and opportunities to showcase recipes. Instagram did not even exist! I jumped in feet first and decided to "learn as I go." Back then, I used to post the whole dinner menu at the beginning. My photos were terrible and unappealing. Since then, I have made things simpler by focusing on one recipe per post, and I have added some photography equipment, taken some classes, and practiced a lot. The picture quality has greatly improved!

But what has not changed — and I promise you will never change — is the core vision of Giangi's Kitchen, which is to features simple, delicious, elegant and nutritious recipes that are geared to everyone: working moms, dads, grandparents, empty nesters, teenagers, and anyone else with a desire to prepare great and budget-friendly evening meals for their family in just 30-45 minutes.

So, what is ahead for Giangi's Kitchen? I am working with some exciting and interesting new flavors, and always creating new recipes and blog posts. I am also trying to travel more and enjoy new flavors and cultures. Let's face it, we all share one common bond: we all eat and love food!

I would like to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for being part of this journey. Without a doubt, the very best thing that has come from this blog is getting to connect with SO MANY WONDERFUL PEOPLE from around the world! We truly do live in a global village, and I am honored that so many people spend time here in Giangi's Kitchen. You are always welcome, there is always something delicious cooking on the stove, and we are all family.
