Do you like their products? Would you even buy those products for yourself and your loved ones? Do you even have an idea what the company is all about?
You should background checks. Remember that there are three things that will attribute to your success: your skills, the products, and the company you are working with. And if even one of those fails, you are going down a path that will lead to your failure.
3. Respect Your Families and Friends
You should make it clear to yourself from the very beginning: friends and families aren't customers. Also, don't mistake their support to your venture as a sign that they will buy your things and join your team. No. They're just supporting what you do. They won't go out of their way just to force themselves to do what you do. In a nutshell, just respect them.
4. Be Ethical
You don't need to be desperate. It's true that it's difficult to sell and recruit people. It will challenge you, and it will ultimately frustrate you to death. But it doesn't mean that you can jump on anybody just to sell a product or make them false promises so they would join your crew.
Be ethical. Control yourself. Sales and recruitment are two of the most difficult jobs in the world unless you have a gift for that. You should know when to stop. You should know the people who will actually get into your business of network building. Don't just pull everyone in and remember to recuit people the ethical way.
