Applying online via their website is also convenient to do, however, this is not advisable if you are not yet fully knowledgeable about the whole process of applying for SSDI or SSI. Additionally, SSI is not yet available for online application. So instead of doing this, simply call them for an appointment and personally go to their office to get more chances of completing your application without any trouble.
