To counter your hesitation, make a list of pros and cons of the intended change, then think of practical ways to overcome the cons.
Preparation. This stage is where you accept the need for change, believe that you can change, and plan for a healthy life.
Action. Here, you experience some changes in you. You experience life with your new behavior. You have the confidence to apply the actions you listed in the preparation stage. An instance is where you meditate when you feel stressed.
Maintenance. You have successfully applied the plans you prepared for a healthy life. It is possible, though, for old behaviors to recur. Work on preventing old behaviors to resurface by avoiding their triggers.
You can opt for healthy living anytime. Nothing is fixed. Your body cells regenerate and the environment changes, providing new opportunities for healthy living. With a personal commitment to healthy living, you are on the road to delight on what life offers.
