Sprucing up your home environment with new colors, pictures or pillows gives you such a refreshed feeling. You might hesitate at first, breaking your home 'comfort zone.'
It brings up small doses of fear.
But once it's done, you step back and are totally inspired and jazzed!
Change is always good. You just have to see it that way. It's a motivator, a way to bring a different perspective to your daily life. If it can do that for your own life, it makes sense that it would do the same for your business.
Ask yourself these questions:
Has your website become stale?
When is the last time you took an honest look and made some changes?
Changes, such as the theme on your website?
Changed your headshots?
Rewrote your "About" page to reflect your new direction?
Is your answer more than a year ago? If it is, Yikes! Listen closely, because big ticket service packages require more than a fancy sales page and an email pitch!
Here's a reality check: If you want to attract high-end clients, you have to look and act the part! If you missed my recent post on finding your ideal client, you can check it out here.
Headshots Done Right
There's not doubt about it .. we looked better ten years ago. Yet, that's no excuse for using old, outdated or GULP!, amateur headshots!
Think about it .. when you are promoting and selling your high end service packages, it's important to look professional and that starts with great headshots. Hire a photographer, who understands and specializes in head shots for the web. Expect to spend several hundred dollars for several high-resolution images you can use, not only on your website but in all your marketing materials.

Get Your Website Redone
And what about your website?
If the theme you're still using is the one you designed yourself when you first started out, it's definitely 'spruce it up' time.
You might argue the point that potential clients really should not judge you by the way your site looks, and perhaps that's true ... but they will. In fact, you only have seven seconds to grab their attention before they leave and go to check out someone else's site.
A clean, professional and modern website will do wonders for you, improve your credibility and help you to start attracting the right clients.
As long as you are 'remodeling' your website, now would be a great time to solicit new testimonials. When you do, don't just make a single testimonial page instead:
Take the best ones and add them to your sales page and your individual package pages.
Use them in your email newsletters.
Include them in your lead-generation materials as well.
One of the most important pages, your 'About Me' page is often the most neglected. Why? It's the one that people struggle with the most. This is one page that might need more TLC, even to the point of hiring someone else write it for you or revise the one you wrote.
When you sit down to think through the best approach to writing your 'About' page, start by looking at where your ideal client is right now, describe it, weaving in a short paragraph or two of who you are, how you help or support your clients and end with where, after working with you, they will be in their life/business.
Another way to approach your page is to weave your story, business and life details throughout the copy, which will give your ideal client the knowledge that you've got what it takes to help them grow.
It makes you come alive in front of their eyes and makes them feel as if they really know you and helps them 'see' you as the exact person to help them.
Social Media
Often forgotten but just as crucial is updating your social media profiles: Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and any others that have a tremendous reach.
No matter where you ideal clients find you, the information always needed to be consistent and professional.
All of this, the new headshots or updating your website, just might feel like a waste of time, but .. it's time for a #TruthBomb .. People really do judge a book by its cover.
You've only got a few seconds to grab their attention and make a lasting impression.
Make it the best you can and one that instantly says 'Wow, She gets me!'
