You've read it all, you've heard it over and over, and you know deep in your heart that networking is crucial to your success! The big question is: Are you doing it with forethought and have a solid strategy in place or Yikes! .. are you just winging it?
The truth, even if you don't want to admit it, is that most of us fall right smack dab in the winging it category.
How do you go from winging it to doing networking with forethought? Here are some quick and easy changes you can make that will help to put your most important networking tasks on autopilot. Doesn't that sound awesome?
Outsource the research:
Instead of spending your time and taking you away from tasks that will make you money, hire a VA to find and connect you with potential partners, affiliates, guest blogging, podcasts and all the other marketing options at your disposal.
You can give your VA a list or requirements, which he or she can use and then have them spend an hour or two on Google and to develop a list of hundreds of people who could potentially be reached out to. How would a list of 100, 20 or even 10 new contacts help you in growing your business? (I'd love to know your thoughts in the comments below!)
Automate the initial connection:
While your VA is preparing a list of potential partners, create a script or email template to use when you're ready to reach out to these new contacts. Your VA can either send out an email or make a call on your behalf with the script in front of them. You'll find that using the script will accomplish two things:

Automate the follow-up:

Automate your scheduling:
You can use a service such as TimeTrade or ScheduleOnce and easily set up your calendar with your preferred times for interviews, webinars and such. Give your potential partners a link so they can book time with you and as if you waved your magic wand, the meetings will automatically appear on your calendar. Just think, you can eliminate the 'back and forth, tag you're it' discussion of potential meeting times, with just one single click, your potential partner can pick a time that works for both of you.
One thing to remember: Make sure you update your calendar diligently, because if you're not on top of it, you run the risk of someone scheduling time with you when Oops! you've a commitment already! What an ouch, that would be!!

The truth is, it will take a bit of work to put these systems in place.
Once you do, however, you'll see that attracting and working with partners, guest experts and others is much easier and quickly has become more streamlined.
