The best thing you can do when faced with stressors is to manage them instead. Here are effective stress management tricks that you can practice to live a less stressful life:

One of the most common reasons why people feel stressed is because they expect more. They expect that they will be married by age 27, have two kids, and have a fulfilling and high paying job. They expect to move from junior executive to senior executive after only 2 months. When these expectations do not become a reality, people start thinking that they are not meeting their full potential. They become stressed out as they compare their peers achievements to theirs. They also feel less of a person if they find that their expectations did not turn into reality. The best stress management technique for this is to manage expectations and to think more realistically.
Let It Go
Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, no matter how much you work to meet deadlines and address issues, things dont always go as planned. Learn to accept these kinds of things, let them go and then move on. Let go of past hurt, past issues and past anxieties. Let go of negativity and other stressors that are adding hardships to your life.
Stop Trying to Control Everybody
There are so many ways that people can reacts towards any particular situation. One good example is to observe the way different people react to a sudden downpour. People who have umbrellas will take out their umbrellas and use them. Others will simply take shelter under a shed and wait for the sun to come out. Some will brave the storm just to get home. These various differences in reactions to a single stimulant tell you that not everyone will think like you. Dont try to control others or sway their votes to favor your own vote. You cannot control peoples actions the way you control your own.
Draw a Path or a Guideline
One of the best stress management techniques is to create a roadmap of the things you want to achieve in the next 5 years. This will help you see where you want to go and what you need to do to attain your goal. A roadmap also gives you a sense of peace as you can see clearly the path that you need to take. There are no ambiguities that can frustrate and stress you out.
Give Up Anger and Forgive
Theres a saying that when you hold on to anger, you are not just hurting the other person with your hateful words. You are also holding on to a piece of the hurt by refusing to forgive the person who has done you wrong. This anger eats up your insides until you feel justified by your actions. This can cause you stress than can only be relieved thru forgiveness. Learn to forgive often so you dont feel too much stress.
Create a Space of Peace
A nook, a small altar, or that tiny corner in your room will suffice as your own small space of peace. In this small corner you can meditate, go for deep breathing exercises and other relaxation techniques. This space is usually free of other stressors that worries you unnecessary.
