The goal now is for you to begin recognizing spiritual freedom through consistent methods for attaining it. I mean body mind mastery, if you will. However, you must acknowledge your faith in how to control the mind.
As spiritual teacher and author Marianne Williamson states, "Hope is born of participation in the solution."
Your willingness to consistently participate will determine your fate in how far along the path you travel to spiritual freedom.
In my 2nd book of this ever-developing series, Mastering Your Own Spiritual Freedom, Lessons from A Course in Miracles, I will offer you a few steps that will lead you away from the desire to judge, away from pain and suffering.
They will lead you to forgive these desires. The steps may be new to you, but you must sincerely invite them to be part of you.
Please be sure to look at them as merely ideas, however, rather than rules. Let's now discuss these ideas and try to ingrain them into your day-to-day routine. Welcome them into your home, so to speak.
The decisions we make are continuous, though we don't always realize we're making them. The amount of toothpaste you squeezed onto your toothbrush may be one of a thousand decisions you already made early in the morning, for example. We're not going to concern ourselves with saving toothpaste here; but for starters, we do want to practice seeing decisions so a new routine can begin to form.
This will help you see the steps you never recognized as being important.
When you do decide to dive in to the book, please continue to read through these instructions no differently than how you read a highway sign driving down the highway. In other words, don't analyze but simply notice the feelings going on within you.
Don't let yourself become preoccupied with every step you take, because any incessant thinking will open the door for the ego to slam its input onto you. If you try too hard to study or dissect this practice, you'll surely raise questions for the ego to help you answer.
In other words, take the little steps but don't ask yourself why, or try to analyze their purpose. Simply participate in the step. Now, with this understood, let's move on and allow this section to simply flow through your Inner Guidance System, where it will be absorbed like a sponge.
Before going to sleep for the night, simply tell yourself that when you awaken in the morning, you will not be making any decisions about your day ahead of you.
Then, when you wake up, you should have a mindset, and this will give you a good start. If you have any resistance or you lack dedication, you are not ready. If you're not ready, that's okay; simply tell yourself the truth that you're not ready. The honesty with yourself will give you the inspiration needed to start over tomorrow. Merely accept that you are going to try again tomorrow.
If you are truly ready, then think about the day you want to have. Not what you wish to have, or would like to have, but what you actually want to have. Tell yourself in an easygoing and gentle manner that "There is a way in which the day I want to have can happen automatically."
Take a few meditative breaths, making yourself relaxed. Then say to yourself a few times, until all judgment thoughts have left you, "Today I will make no decisions by myself."
This means you are choosing not to be the judge of what to do. Also, you are not to judge the situations where you will be called upon to make a response. If you judge the situations, your split-mind will apply the rules it has determined for how you should react to them. Then you will have another set of answers, producing confusion, uncertainty, and fear.
