Here are seven yoga studio tips for those who want to try Bikram Yoga:
Come early
As with any workout sessions or any appointments for that matter, arriving early is important. Aside from it being a courtesy to the instructor, it is also important to arrive at least 10 minutes early for you to get used to the temperature of the room. The yoga room is heated to at least 40 C degrees (104 F degrees). Especially if it is cold outside, it takes the body some time to adjust accordingly.
Wear appropriate Bikram Yoga clothes
The importance of wearing suitable hot yoga clothes could not be highlighted enough. This is important in achieving the hard poses. Wearing clothing with tough fabric such as denim would constrain movements and later on could result in muscle strain. Bring a towel

Bring water

You can bring your own water bottle if the studio does not have a water dispenser in the premises. Water will rehydrate the body and help in cooling down your body temperature after the 90-minute Bikram Yoga session.
Rest
This tip is for first-timers and beginners. You should know when to rest. Don�t be a hero and pretend that you can handle the whole session for the first time if you can�t. Rest whenever you feel dizzy. Do not force yourself to finish the whole session. Sit down in case you feel nauseous, dizzy or light-headed.
Stay near the window
There are places in a Bikram Yoga studio that are hotter than others. Stay near the window as this is usually the coolest places in the whole studio. The back and center of the room are usually the hottest as the body heat of everyone usually packs together in these places.
Bring comfortable shoes
You will be barefoot or at most wearing yoga socks during your yoga session. The comfortable shoes are for going home. People often do not think of bringing extra slippers or sneakers since they will be barefoot during the session. Those who come from work, for example, end up wearing their work clothes or everyday clothes going home. This could be uncomfortable after an intense work out. Imagine walking home with your stilettos on after a 90-minute workout.
