I call this the basic routine for success:

Wow, that's it? Those seem so simple. Stop and think about the impact these small changes will have on your business if you make it a priority to accomplish these 5 steps every day. I'm not saying this is the "daily routine of Bill Gates" but it is one followed by most successful people online or offline. Now, let's explore each one in great detail.
Create 1 piece of content every single day for your business
Each and every day, create content which meets the needs of your customers. This can be done by posting a video or article on your blog, a video on YouTube or just a simple post on Facebook or other social media. The key is to actually provide value to your customers and the content should be relevant to your niche or business.
Be creative and have fun with the process. The list of ideas is endless so I won't try to go through them all here, but the key is to know that your customers want to hear from you...and they want to hear from you often. It's the key to building any great relationship...communication!

Include pictures of your dreams. Pictures of your family, cars, houses, vacation spots, etc...whatever drives you to succeed in your business. Make sure they are things that motivate you. Take some time picking your pictures and look for things that really drive you. You want things that produces emotions deep inside.
So, flip through this vision book every day even if just quickly. Once in a while, spend time seeing yourself actually in that picture. If it's a car, smell the leather and feel the seat surrounding you. To make it even more real, go visit a dealership and sit in your dream car. Do whatever it takes to make it real to you.
The other big part of working on your mindset is Afformations. No, I did not misspell that. This is a great concept developed by Noah St. John in his book "The Secret Code of Success". In very basic terms, he shows you how powerful it is to ask a series of questions to declare your affirmations. Questions activate your subconscious and your mind will work behind the scenes to answer these questions.
Here are a few examples, but make sure you write questions specific to your goals and desires:

• Why Am I So Lean?
• Why Am I So Happy?
• Why Do I Attract So Many Leaders?
• Why Am I Always In The Right Place At The Right Time With The Right People?
Hand write these questions each night right before you go to sleep. Read them, hand write them, then read them again. This will activate your subconscious mind to solve these riddles, even while you sleep.
Make Connections With 20 New People Per Day
This one used to be so much harder than it is today. In years past, you had to actually find 20 people live and in person. That meant walking up to complete strangers, most of which had absolutely no interest in your product or business. I think this can still be very effective, especially if you have a brick and mortar business or one that is very focused to a certain regional area. I'm not saying it still can't be effective for online businesses but there are much easier ways.
The internet has absolutely changed the way we as business owners connect with our customers. Though it used to be enough to build a website and work on advertising that link, now your customers are looking for so much more.
Now, you must find and interact with your customers on social media. Most of them can be found on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and many others. The key is to do a little research and find out where you ideal customer hangs out and join them.
Once you identify the site or sites, find and start adding connections and followers. I highly recommend you focus on 1 or 2 to start and find out all you can in order to build your followers. Connect with at least 20 new people each and every day. As long as you are posting interesting and helpful content, you will get and keep those followers.
Study 1 Leader Each Day
Spend time each day learning about great leaders. They do not have to be specific to your business or industry. Leadership skills are universal and can be applied to most businesses. Ultimately what people are looking for is a leader, so you have to develop your leadership qualities if you want to be successful.
Again, the internet has made this process much easier. It used to be that you'd have to visit a book store or library and find books on great leaders. Now, you can do a quick search and learn a lot about any if not most great leaders. Learn all you can about their habits, their practices and the things the every day in order to be successful.
