2. Neglecting your SEO
Once you have your website up and running, it is essential that you invest a portion of your marketing budget into SEO (search engine optimization). With SEO, you can have a better chance at being on the first page of results for specific Google search terms relating to your business. Include relevant long-tail keywords on your website, and use local keywords as well in order to have content that is findable and searchable. If you neglect SEO, you could get pushed further down the Google results queue, losing visibility and potential customers.
3. Not having a responsive website

6. Lack of Social Media Presence
Another source of new business is gathered through social media channels. Social media is an inexpensive way to establish a brand presence and have an opportunity to communicate with customers. Figure out where your prospects are most likely to be, and establish a continued presence there.
7. No tracking mechanism
When you have your online presence firmly established, you need to have a tracking system in place to see what's working and what isn't. This doesn't have to be complicated, but create a system that works for you and tracks the metrics that are important to your SMB.
