Let's face it, no pun intended, the yearning to have eye-catching healthy glowing skin is pretty common. Women (and men) will go to just about any length, and expense, to get it! Surgery, fillers, chemical peels, laser treatments, and more. I'm not shooting anyone down here for their decisions, I'm simply pointing out a reality. Hey, I equally like having attractive skin! Who doesn't?
In fact, up until the time I was around 18 or 19 years old, I had unflawed skin. The kind my friends wanted. I escaped the whole teenage struggle with breakouts. It wasn't until my 20s that I started to have some skin difficulties. I never actually suffered from acne per say, but I did fight with sporadic breakouts, on and off, for about 10 years.
After a number of years of investigation and trials with my diet, nutrition, life style, health and beauty products, I uncovered what worked for me and my skin and health have been VERY stable for many years now.
So what I found out is that attaining healthy and radiant skin isn't necessarily as complicated as one may think. Many women spend all their time and energy on "fixing" their impaired skin and will pay any amount of money to do so. The first thing that comes to my mind in response to this strategy is, why would anyone really want to constantly "fix" anything?
I mean if you had to take your car to the shop every day for improvements, doesn't that tell you that there is something very wrong with it? I would think that eventually you would want to send that car straight off a cliff. I would. The suggestion being that there has got to be something more underlying that you are doing or not doing to cause that car to constantly need fixing. Well it is no different when it comes to your skin.
So the first thing I would like to propose on the subject of pure skin care is that you put an end to this fix, fix, fix approach and instead realize there is a better way to go about this. That is, if you are willing to make some simple changes in your daily life style and let go of some bad habits.
First, let me just say that it is not at all unusual to think that one is doing something good and healthy, only to find out, somewhere down the road, that what they were doing was actually considerably undesirable. This often comes from being deceived by companies who gain large profits off of selling expensive beauty moisturizers, which guarantee you radiant skin, when in fact they do nothing but ravage your skin (and health), due to all of the chemicals and bad ingredients they contain.
So if you are one of the many battling to have beautiful skin, I have laid out 10 key steps below for you to try. I can merely propose that you attempt some or all of my approaches to see if they work for you.
When it comes to how I address my life style, my motto is to keep it simple. So in keeping with what I practice, here are my easy organic skin care tips to beautiful healthy glowing skin all over:
1. Use an organic soap for washing. I like liquid soaps that include organic lavender. I am a huge fan of lavender anything. It's even one of the active ingredients in our Bon Naturel Stretch Marks and Scars Care cream, which I love and use as a face cream. You only need a drop.
2. Use a good Natural/Organic Serum and Moisturizer. We have a great one in our Bon Naturel line called, Super C Serum.
3. Get yourself some organic virgin coconut oil to use all over, including your hair. Jojoba oil is also excellent for putting on your hair at bed time.
4. Drink good clean water all throughout the day. The first glass of the day is great with lemon, as this cleanses your filter organs; kidneys, liver, gallbladder.
5 Get a good brand of organic powdered "greens". Mix them into some water, organic apple juice or put them in your morning protein drink (like I do) and take them every day.
6. Aim to get good sleep at night.
7. Take occasional saunas; they are very cleansing to the skin. Or get some outdoor exercise that gets you sweating.
8. Get some physical activity each day. Doesn't have to be a lot; could be a 20 min walk, bike ride, dancing, running, stretching or whatever you like. Just get your body moving and the blood circulating.
9. Body brushing. Ok, in my modest opinion, this is one of the best things you can do for your health and skin. It's definitely budget-friendly. It only takes an initial investment of a good brush and a few minutes of your time each day. I'm not going to go into how to do it in this article, I'll save that for a separate post. But, I will say, I've been doing this for about 3 or 4 years now and I looooove it! It gets your circulation going, which introduces a glow to your skin, it exfoliates your skin making it softer and healthier and it simply helps make you feel good! And at long last, step # 10:
10. This is probably one of the most recommended things you can do for your skin (and health). Organic skin care without a doubt does also have a lot to do with exactly what you put into your body, so try to clean up your diet. Start off by including more organic vegetables and fruits. Real simple but very key. Eat meats and eggs, cultivated without hormones and antibiotics. The healthier you are, the more it projects on your face.
So, to recap-throw out the chemical products, get back to Basics. Start using clean, natural and organic skin care products, like BonNaturel skin care. Clean up your diet, drink good quality water and get some exercise and sleep.
You will feel better and happier and your skin will glow it!
