In this article we look at determining your best customer avatar, or your ideal target audience.

A lot of people take the technique of trying to sell to everybody, a term typically called the 'shotgun method'. This technique is typically taught by many offline network marketing business. Maybe a technique that worked when offline resources were the only marketing means readily available.

Here's a list of things I prefer to tick off when determining my ideal consumer:

Their fundamental information, marital relationship & homeowner status.
Their pastimes & what they drive.
What they read, vacations.
Income bracket
Abilities, capabilities, character characteristics
Their pain points & worries
Their motivations

The above list is by no means extensive, but a clear meaning is vital to identify your best client.

Today, developing a business on the Internet offers you have the ability to talk straight to your ideal customer. The mistake many people make is not knowing they exist in the first place.

A few years ago I was asked to teach karate at a regional neighborhood centre. I made some preliminary queries and discovered that word had spread quickly about the club and there was a great deal of interest.

The location remained in a run-down part of town, there wasn't a lot of money around and even less discipline, so I thought karate would be fantastic for the location.

And it was ...
