If you think there is any changes on the biggest cruise Ship let me know you comment is important to update this blog.
Traveling around the world is something that most people would include in their bucket list. And more often than not, people would choose to travel by air. However, the cruise industry is getting more attention from excited travelers and tourists globally these days. Cruises are now being marketed as an equally fascinating and splendid vacation plan. And as the demand rises, the cruise ship sizes also increase. Here are the top five biggest cruise ships in the world that are guaranteed to make you cruise in leisure and utmost comfort.
Number 1: It's a Tie!
The title and bragging rights of the biggest ship in the world is held by two Royal Caribbean International ships. Allure of the Seas, which was built in 2010, and Oasis of the Seas that was launched in 2008, both share the top spot on the list.
Each ship measures 1,181.167 feet and weighs 225,282 gross tonnage (GT). These massive ships could carry an average of 5,400 people and even a maximum of 6,360. With the creation of these extremely large and luxurious cruise ships, who wouldn't want to go on vacation cruises?
Another thing that these two share is their route. They cruise from Port Everglades to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ships may look like twins but there are also some distinctions in the interiors of the two. The newer one, Allure of the Seas, boasts of having the first ever Starbucks coffeeshop at sea.
Number 2: Anthem of the Seas
This is, again, a Royal Caribbean International ship. It has a size of 1,139 feet and weighs 168,666 GT. With a 4,180-passenger capacity, this next-generation cruise ship was launched in April 2015.
This new "mega-ship" will also feature other first-time innovations similar to its older sibling, Quantum of the Seas. There will be additional recreational features such as a skydiving simulator and a glass capsule which gives you a very wide view of the whole ship from 300 feet above sea level. There are other exciting additions as well which will make any first-time cruisers giddy.
Number 3: Quantum of the Seas
Quantum of the Seas is a massive ship that was launched in 2014 by the same operator who owns the biggest ship in the world. It measures the same as the Anthem of the Seas, but is lighter at 167,800 GT.
Quantum of the Seas is known as a smart ship with its advance features, making it ideal for the technically savvy passengers. It is the Web-friendliest cruise ship as passengers could easily take photos, post travel tweets, and many others with its WiFi services. Then there is the experience going to the Bionic Bar and receiving shots from robots mixing drinks.
Number 4: Norwegian Epic
This is a breather in the list from all the Royal Caribbean International ships. The Norwegian Epic was launched in 2010 by the Norwegian Cruise Line, measuring 1,081 feet in length and weighing 155,873 GT.
Back in 2010, this was the third largest cruise ship in the world. This massive ship can accommodate an average of 4,100 passengers to a maximum of 5,183. When it was first launched, Norwegian Epic boasted of the many "firsts" it introduced at sea — the first solo studio cabins were a popular one, while there was the first Blue Man Group show at sea. Adding to their new facilities were the loft suites, a carousel, an amphitheater with unique poolside performances, and adventure activities like zip-lining.
Number 5: It's a Triple Tie!
For three consecutive years, the world was given the chance to see the rise of three cruise ships all from Royal Caribbean International. The Freedom of the Seas in 2006 was first launched with a measurement of 1,112 feet and GT of 154,407. This can hold 3,634 passengers up to a 4,375 maximum. But the operator did not stop there. In two more years after the Freedom of the Seas, the company launched Liberty of the Seas (2007) and Independence of the Seas (2008).
All three were once the largest cruise ships that have sailed the oceans and seas, until their own operator tried to outdo themselves with the arrival of new Oasis-class ships.
The Freedom of the Seas has a lot of additional recreational activities, with three swimming areas as well. Then there is the 24-hour pizza venue, a bigger dining room, and sports area.
These features are also seen in the succeeding ones, but in 2011, the Liberty of the Seas underwent a renovation which gave it extra features from the Oasis-class. These features are popular and one of them is the DreamWorks experience.
The Independence of the Seas was the first out of all the Royal Caribbean ships to have heated, fresh water pools. However, these pools are only heated when the ship is sailing from the UK. But this last Freedom-class ship underwent a $7 billion renovation in 2013, adding a new restaurant, café, and a giant outdoor cinema screen.
