Booking agents are paid based on commission. They receive 30 - 40% of the artist's earnings. Commissions granted for agents vary every year, but they usually range from 20% - 30% of the artist's gross per income. If an agent is connected to many companies, the percentage will increase.

Agents can advance their regular booking tasks by applying at major talent agencies. Many booking agents with huge rosters put up their own agency.
