UNDERFLOOR HEATING
Underfloor heating used to be viewed as a real luxury, a luxury that only the very well off could afford. Now-a-days, however, more and more people are turning to underfloor heating as a means of partially or fully heating their home. It may be relatively expensive to install but once installed in your home it's cost effective to run and unobtrusive.
So what are the advantages of having underfloor heating installed in your home?
Here's just a few of them.
Firstly, it helps your house to feel more comfortable. This type of heating heats the whole of the floor area, there are no corners or other areas which are left out, as when you use a more conventional heating system. Also because the whole of your house is being heated you have consistent room temperatures throughout the house; no longer do you feel hot in one room and freezing cold in another!
Secondly, you have the freedom to design your room as you want. No living space is lost to radiators so you're able to put your furniture where you want instead of losing areas to bulky heaters.
Thirdly, underfloor heating is very, very safe. With lower temperatures and no radiators sticking into the rooms, using a floor heating system means there is no longer a risk of children burning themselves on hot radiators or bruising themselves as they run round the house, crashing into them. There's no danger to the adults of the house, either!
Fourthly, an underfloor heating system produces less airborne dust than normal radiators and convection currents. This really helps those with allergies and asthma as they're no longer breathing in the dust caused by traditional heating systems. It also helps with the cleaning!
Another advantage of underfloor heating is that, once installed, there is very little maintenance involved. There is very little that can go wrong as there are no moving parts in an underfloor heating system. As long as the pipes were pressure tested for potential leaks during installation there will be no leaks down the line. Nothing else can go wrong hence no regular maintenance costs unlike traditional central heating.
Finally, most traditional heating systems are controlled by a single thermostat whereas an underfloor system is controlled by a thermostat in each room. This means that all rooms are controlled individually to ensure the correct temperature and not waste money.
To summarise, underfloor heating seems to have a great deal going for it, try it out today!
