The first way is a bit technical. It's called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Once your site is fully optimized, it can appear on the first page of a Google search. This, of course, makes your blog much more visible.

There are some easy tips. First, update often. This makes your blog more relevant. It works not only for your readers, but also for search engines that prefer indexing up-to-date content. Second, use generic keywords that people will search for. Include them in your post title, body, and URL. For example, "How to Bake a Blueberry Cheesecake" would be found more easily than "My Mother's Special Blueberry Cheesecake". Third, use alt-text for images. This means that your images will have text when someone hovers their mouse over them. Not only does this help your readers, but it also helps you as well by allowing your blog to be more easily indexed by a search engine like Google.

The other ways are less technical and require more effort on your part. People would suggest social media, and while having an Instagram account along with your photography blog would definitely improve your traffic generation from one platform to another, it doesn't always work that well. You have to know what's appropriate for your readers. Your blog is like your online business, so you have to really think about your decisions, especially if you want to make money from blogging.

While a social media account isn't really necessary, what is necessary is to interact with your readers and fellow bloggers in the blogosphere. Reply to your readers when they comment. Thank them for reading every now and then. Answer their questions. Entertain their suggestions and see what they want from you. Tell them more about yourself. It's easier to interact with someone if they know more about them and think of them as a person rather than a serious robot that only writes articles and doesn't interact with their readers. Once you come off as friendly and intelligent about your field, people will come and appreciate you. They will also probably become loyal readers.

Another important step is to interact with your fellow bloggers. You can start small. If you read their blogs, then you should comment on their posts as well. Share their posts with your audience if you find something particularly interesting. Try to make friends. Socializing is key. Eventually other bloggers will find that they enjoy your blog and will share it to their own readers. This will help you, because then some of their readers will become your readers as well.

Once you've become friendlier with other bloggers, you might even do collaborations. You can guest write a post on their blog and they may guest write a post on yours. This way, two different blogs can share their content and audience. The best way to keep your traffic generation steady is to keep your blog interesting, after all, and constantly bringing in new content and new ideas can't be a solitary task.
