Another thing that helps sell these scooters as capable of touring is the fact that most maxi-scooters have water-cooled radiators that allow for longer rides without the fear of engines over heating over time and distance covered. This is especially helpful as well if you're stuck in traffic for a long time since air cannot cool your big engine as fast as it needs to.
400cc scooters have also changed how the public sees scooters over the years. In the past there was a clear separation between scooter riders and motorcycle riders. This line has slowly dissipated as more and more people begin to see the value of these bikes. And although maxi-scooters are deemed beyond boring for the hardcore bikers, they're not uncommon during bike meets. This is because some of the hardcore bikers who have advanced in age find these machines more convenient to ride on. The fact that they don't have to lift a leg over the bike to ride it spells a lot of difference when all you have to do to get on one of these maxi-scooters is to step on it and sit as if you were on a couch.
So if you still want to ride with your bros without having to sacrifice your comfort, try a maxi-scooter on for size. You won't have to worry about getting left behind if they pick up speed and you won't have to suffer through too much vibration after a long run
