Nothing can compare to the feeling of being young and having the wind blowing in your hair as you speed around the city. During my younger years, we achieved that through driving our little 50cc scooters. Although these are considered tiny machines, these scooters were enough to get you from point A to point B. We could get to school from our homes without having to wait for your mom's van, do some errands along the way and at night meet up with friends in areas that you can't reach easily on foot or by bus.
Owning one of these 50cc scooters also gave you a total sense of freedom and a heightened sense of responsibility. For teenagers approaching young adulthood, that is some pretty serious responsibility.
This is the age where you're stepping off the platform of being a child and taking on the challenges of being a young adult. This meant no more allowances and having to buy your own fuel to make these 50cc scooters run. Cleaning the bike and maintaining the engine is also part of the responsibility you take on when owning one of these fun machines.
We'd take on jobs in order to have money for fuel and fun! It's a good thing these machines practically sip gas covering hundreds of miles on a single gallon. This meant the rest of your paycheck goes towards your savings or for customization of your bike to make it more personalized.
Social ties are also developed between young adults when two or more 50cc bike owners come together. This type of bond usually last for a lifetime and also increases the fun of being a scooter owner. As the years go by, people who have shared the same experience as you on these miniature machines will always cherish the memories they evoke.
Customization is also easy for these bikes as parts are widely available and changing the paint scheme is easy. With only a few panels to work with, changing the paint job can be done as a hobby at home. And if you become quite good at it, you might even end up doing it as a start-up business. Not bad for a life lesson right?
Of course 50cc scooters aren't just for young adults, even grownups can fully enjoy it as long as it is properly maintained. So you can rest assured that the memories you share with your bike will grow with you as time passes. Who knows, you might even pass it on to the younger generation and let them have new experiences with it which are just as fun as what you had.
Now all of the things mentioned above might not happen to you yet. All of these happened to me a lot of younger people with a scooter.: Just remember to gas up, clean your bike and wear a helmet at all times. Now go and have some fun!
