Is Your Life By Choice Or By Chance

I am writing to you from my house in Mexico on the Baja peninsula on the beautiful Pacific Ocean. It is an absolutely spectacular morning. The sun is rising, the sky is blue, there's not a cloud in the sky. The ocean is crashing in front of me. It is a little rough out there today. And the question I have for you today is, "Are you living a life of choice?" Or, is your life by chance?

Are you living where you want to live or have circumstances dictated your location? Are you driving the car you want to drive or are you keeping that old jalopy around for another couple thousand miles because you are afraid to commit to a more reliable car? Are you letting fear dictate many of your life choices? Are you choosing the things you do in life or is life just doing it to you? Are you letting it happen or are you making it happen?

Do you want to go to Disneyland with the kids but you can't because you don't have any time or you don't have any money? Are there other things you would like to do, such as traveling, or skiing or... but you don't because you are afraid to spend the money or take the time off of work. Is life passing you by?

You can fix that. Now what I challenge you to do is live a life of choice. I challenge you to do the things you want to do, when you want to do them, with the people you want to do them with, where you want to do them. And not to wait until the grim reaper is standing over you, and you're going, "I wish I had. All those thing I wanted to do, I would've like to have. I should have, but I didn't."

It all begins with your mindset. It starts with creating your vision of what you want your life to be like say 3 to 5 years from now. Once you have that vision created, written down and firmly committed to memory, then it is time to create some affirmations and intermediate goals.

Much has been written about affirmations and why they work and what to do with them. Affirmations are always positive, created in the present tense and are used to tell your subconscious mind what you want it to work toward.

For affirmations to be successful, you must have a vision and you must believe in it. You must see it and take action toward it. Successful people take action. Other people, sadly the vast majority, plan to take action but somehow never quite get there. Which group are you in? Are you taking action today? Are you stretching yourself and reaching for your goals or are you waiting for someday to get started?

The choice is yours. After all, it's only your life!
