This week I have been reading a book called Industry Rockstar written
by entrepreneur Kane Minkus.

In the book he talked about a lot of the things we had been working
towards but he just packaged it all in a much more centrified way.

He wrote about the trends and how important it was to build your own
personal brand.

We first come across the concept of personal branding back in 2010 via
internet marketing guru Mark Hoverson and he talked about the concept
of leadership branding.

At the time Tom actually rang Mark up and had a conversation with him
on the phone and Mark said that the best way to brand yourself was with
video.

Daunting as it was at the time, I had to contemplate the idea of putting
myself and our family out to the world which up until that time is
something I would never had contemplated.

We set sail and our first video took around 18 takes, to say it felt
wierd and uncomfortable would be an understatment.

Kane talked about how internet marketing skillsets would be critical to
future growth and profitability.

I often think about how we have slowly mastered the fundamentals in
this area.

In the book he described very much the same things we promote in our
videos time and time again, so watch our videos, because they will
teach you the fundamentals.

He also talked about why it is important to think global and how
packaging and positioning could either make you or break you.

I tend to think about countries like USA, UK, Canada and Australia but
at the same time I have an eye on the asian markets and how to develop
joint ventures with people in that region.

Positioning yourself for profitability can be a very tricky proposition
if you don't know what you are doing.

The solution to profitability is found in having a big ticket product
to sell and in having someone else sell it for you over the phone.
