Network Marketing Companies - What Are The Pros And The Cons?

In the last month I have been approached twice by people wanting me
to check out their network marketing companies.

One approach was over the internet on skype and the other was through
an aquaintance I had known and communicated with on facebook.

Over 20 years ago I also got involved in network marketing with a
company called Amway.

I was 32 at the time, I was in a job and was totally mesmerised by the
idea of becoming financially independent in a 2 to 5 year time frame.

Is it as easy as they say it is?

What I discovered eventually, was that these types of businesses look
attractive on the outside but in reality involve great commitment,
great skills, great resolve and a lot of personal development.

I think the people who make it work, for one reason or another, succeed
because of a combination of reasons.

For the rest of us it is just not our time.

If we use a little bit of common sense, to be successful is really no
different to any other pursuit. You have to want to do it and you have
to be hungry for success.

When I started I would say I was green, I thought that the world of the
success stories that were trotted out lived in a utopia, meaning they
had the perfect life.

I was one of these people who had some success with network marketing
but after 10 years it just was not profitable for us.

What was profitable, was the skills I learned along the way, the team
building skills, the communication skills and the leadership skills.

I took those skills and transferred them into other ideas and other
opportunities.

The point here is that nothing is wasted if you have vision and goals.
