Do you ever wonder why in some sites you visit, there are banners everywhere advertising different types of things, people, job, etc.? These banners are called Google AdSense.
Google AdSense is an automatic image, video, interactive media, or text commercial that you see popping out in some sites that you visit. These are advertisements placed by the Google Network in certain sites to let publishers advertise their products. These commercials are organized and sustained by Google. Google uses the PPC (Pay per Click) and CPI (Cost per Impression) basis in these advertisements.
What is PPC (Pay per Click)?
Google uses PPC (Pay per Click) in Google AdSense to monitor the effectiveness of the cost and the profits of the internet market. It tells the publisher about how effective the advertisement is. In order to measure the effectiveness of an advertisement, the program counts the number of clicks in the ads of the viewers. If many clicks are counted for a certain banner or advertisement, then the commercial is effective. In short, the more the click in an advertisement, the more effective it is. It is sometimes explained as "the amount spent to get an advertisement clicked."
In order to calculate the PPC or the Pay per Click basis, you just need to divide the cost of the advertisement by the number of clicks obtained by the advertisement. The basic formula is:
Cost of the advertisement รท Number of clicks = Pay per Click ($)
To determine the pay per click of an advertisement, two primary models are used. These are the flat-rate and the bid-based.
In the flat-rate model, the publisher and the advertiser both need to agree on a certain amount. This amount will be the amount paid in every click the advertisement will get.
However, in the bid-based, there will be some kind of auction performed by numbers of advertisers. There is also a contract signed by the advertisers that enables them to join the private auction. Every advertiser will offer an amount that he or she will pay per click for a certain advertisement.
