The first step is to prepare the vegetables. Wash them under running water and make sure that there are no soiled parts left. The skin of vegetables like potatoes and carrots should also be removed . Next, prepare the other materials such as the chopping board and a knife. Cut off the edges and parts of the vegetables, like the soggy portions or the green tops in the case of carrots, in order to produce an even shape.

Take hold of the julienne peeler, making a 45-degree angle with the side of the vegetable. Press it firmly on the veggie and then slowly drag it across the surface. Repeat this until all of the vegetables are stripped . Adjust them if necessary to prevent the blade from producing uneven strips or hurting the hands.

After peeling all the vegetables, clean the julienne peeler. Rust and other destructive growths can develop if it is left dirty. A stainless steel julienne peeler does not develop rust but it should still be cleaned. Take extra caution in cleaning the blade to avoid cutting oneself. Dry it afterwards. Put back the protective cover on the blade before replacing it on its storage place.

There are certain precautionary measures users should take to protect oneself and the julienne peeler. Follow these guidelines in order to prevent injury and to prolong the use of this kitchen utensil.

Users should be careful in positioning their hands and fingers near the blade of this peeler. Keep it back from the way of the julienne tool. Give enough space allowance between the hands and the peeler. Use a firm grip in order to have good control of this tool .

Never play with a julienne peeler. They are not toys and they can really hurt people. Store it in a place where children and pets will not be able to get hold of and play with it. Remind them constantly of its nature so that they will not forget.
