There is a glaring difference between a criminal case and a civil case. The plaintiff, meanwhile, does not have a say on the plea bargain. If the plea bargain is turned down by the court, the defendant has no other choice but to withdraw the guilty plea, thereby opening the door for the actual trial. The trial is where the full skills of all law practitioners on all sides will be put to the test.
