Many alternative methods may be used to treat whiplash injuries. These include acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation or TENS. First, acupuncture may relieve neck pain by releasing tension in the body. This is done by inserting sterilized needles in particular body points. Second, chiropractic care may substitute or complement physical therapy. This involves the use of the manual adjustment of the spine or related body structures to restore normal functioning of the neck. If muscle spasms still continue to occur after one to two weeks, massaging the muscles may help loosen them. Fourth, TENS is an instrument that interferes with the transmission of pain impulses by applying mild current in the skin. With exercise, it will alleviate chronic neck pain.

Prevention is always better than cure. One should practice extreme caution especially while in the road in order to avoid these accidents from happening. Hopefully, through this article, many people have been enlightened and the incidence of auto accidents will already lower in the future .
