How to improve your life is something that I believe everyone wants to know. There is always a 100% response of "YES", when the question is asked, who wants to.
I think we all have desires and aspirations that we would like to see fulfilled, but are not taking actions to see them happen. It can be difficult to relate what we are doing in the present to the results that we would like to have in the future. We must understand that by making the right choices today, and investing a little time and energy, we are planning for our future.
Think of it like this, if you want to improve your life by buying a new car, you would save for that new car, today. Right? If you want to buy a home, in a couple of years, you would start saving today and making sure that your credit report, if needed, was in good shape.
Most people get disheartened, because it seems like such a huge task to tackle sometimes. When I was teaching my nephew how to ride his bike, he thought for sure that he could not make it to the corner. He was always looking back to see if I was holding him up. I told him not to look back, but to look at where he wanted to go. After a couple of tries, he made it to the corner and couldn't believe he was that far away. Now, when he rides his bike, he goes a lot farther than the corner and his bike rides have become second nature to him. This is true of life and the skills that we learn. In order to improve your life, you must start and continue to practice behaviors that will become second nature to you, like breathing.
At first implementing a new thought pattern, behavior or action into our lives is a very conscious act. This is only in the beginning stages. To form a new habit, you only need thirty days. After that thirty days, it moves to the more subconscious part of the mind.
To improve your life, the journey starts and will continue to be one small step at a time. Taking smalls actions everyday makes it easier to digest whatever it is you want to do in the future. You may have heard the question asked, "how do you eat an elephant"? One chunk at a time.
Improving your life is a gradual process and it can be discouraging if you don't see results immediately. To help you out, you should set mini goals and after you achieve them, reward yourself. After that is done, you move on to the next goal, that you need to focus on everyday, until it is complete and you are on your way. What you are trying to establish here, is you thinking about your life's improvement, every singleday. You want the thought of it to become a habit. When a new habit is fashioned, changes are made and you get to look back, in amazement.
Take the first step and write out what you want on a post it note and stick it to your bathroom door, where you will see it every
morning. Think about how it will feel to have it. Get your emotions involved. See yourself with it and enjoying it. This will set the positive tone for the day and help you accomplish the daily tasks needed to get you to your goal. This is how to improve your life.
