Controlling and Managing Your WP Plugins

When I first started creating my Blogson™ "Niche" Blog
Sites" over a year ago, I searched and downloaded many WP plugins. I now
have over 40 Niche Sites and I have found the best way of keeping track and
installing plugins when creating new sites, or maintaining old ones, is just to
"Make of list" of all your plugins. You can organize them by Category or
relevance, or any way that best suits your needs. I keep a list of my Plugins in a WordPad document. It's easy to use and edit entries.

When you are ready to create a new Blog, pull up your list. You then simply
go to the "plugins" section of your Dashboard, decide on the plugins you want
for the site, click on "Add New," copy and paste in the name of the plugin you want to
install, and search. WordPress will provide you with the latest version of the plugin and some variations and related plugins. I have found many other Plugins while searching for a particular one. From there you simply "install"
and "Activate".

You now have the latest version of your plugin. You did not have to try and
find your old version on your computer, upload it, install it, then have to turn around and
update it. I find it saves steps and is much easier and reliable to use when creating a new web site.

The WorPress Plugin "add new" button should be used often as possible, even if you have downloaded a "special" plugin. Always check the "Add New" in your WorPress Dashboard before paying for any plugins. Many of them are just variations of original WordPress and can be installed via the "Add New" link in your Dashboard. If you have
an idea for something you would like to add to your blog? Type in a keyword in
the "add new" and search. WordPress will undoubtedly have a plugin for it or one close to what you have in mind.!

All this is "old hat" to the "Seasoned Blogger" but it may help new people when starting out. Keep yourself Organized, especially if you are creating a number of WordPress sites. It will save you an immense amount of time in the long run.
