I went to see the Lego Movie last night with some friends and when it was over, it hit me how powerful its message to believe in yourself was.


You see, in the Lego Movie, an ordinary construction worker comes to realize what it means to truly believe in yourself and become more powerful than you ever thought possible.

He's chosen to save all of Lego Land. There's a scene where all the famous superheros (Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman, etc) make fun of him and have no faith that he can save the world because he's too ordinary.

The wizard believes in him, and eventually this man realizes that every single person in the world has something so incredibly special to give and to share but you must believe in yourself and realize that ideas you're too scared to share with others out of fear of being judged, may actually be capable of changing the world (that's how some of the greatest inventions in history ever came to exist).

I know it's just a stop motion animated movie, but the message to believe in yourself is so powerful and so true. Sure, it may sound cheesy to you, but it's also why thousands of people, including myself, are part of the online community Empower Network.
