The BB-PAC20 from Zojirushi is a well made bread maker that exceeds expectations. It consistently makes a great, fresh loaf. With about fifteen minutes of prep (including cleanup) you can make a good whole grain loaf of bread. We make about three to five loaves a week so we've had plenty of loaves to check. The 100 % whole grain loaves are soft and moist. The other day we shared some with our neighbors and they commented that it was unusually soft for whole grain. Cleanup is easy and the controls are simple. I do wish the viewing window was a bit larger though. It's hard to see to see the small window.
This machine is very heavy. It weights about 20 lbs. It's also large so don't expect it to tuck into a corner. It makes a two-pound loaf so it's going to take up some space. It has two mixing paddles on the bottom. It has a heating element on top and on bottom so you get a very uniform bread. Some machines only have one heating element so the bottom and top cook at different temperatures.
This unit produces consistent, soft, and moist bread. You're bread won't look as good as if you spent hours making it in the oven.
You can see that the bread has two holes where the paddles mix the bread. Sometimes the paddles get pulled out with the bread but you can easily remove them without ruining the loaf.
Cleanup is easy. Remove the pan, flip it upside down, and out comes the bread. You have to wash the pan, which is very non-stick. The cord is medium length (41 inches) reaching far enough to reasonably navigate the counter.
The control panel is well designed and easy to use. You can select what type of bread to cook. The options are basic, wheat, gluten-free, and dough. You can also make dough. You can select between quick and regular cooking. The quick cycle decreases the time with special quick receipts. With a few more easy selections you can set the crust to light, dark, and medium. The bread above was a medium crust. You get a good a crust with this setting. I think it is the best setting for crust.
There is an option to use a timer so the bread will cook at a certain time. , if you wanted fresh bread in the morning this is a good option.

There is also an option to set a custom baking cycle that will let you set the times for the elements of the cycle which includes: rest, knead, rise 1, rise 2, rise 3, and bake. This is a very good bread maker.
