Are you concerned about looking for a place to stay during your camping trip? Do you want animals to stay away from your food? Well, don't worry! This article will help you with those problems by using a survival paracord.
How to make a shelter
Step 1: Find two large trees that are 12 to 14 feet apart. Use your foot to brush away all the leaves and debris between the trees.
Step 2: Cut a 20-feet piece of survival paracord.
Step 3: Tie one end of the paracord to one of the large trees. Make sure that the end of the paracord is 5 feet off the ground when tied.
Step 4: Tie the other end of the paracord to the other large tree. Ensure that the second end of the paracord is 12 inches off the ground when tied.
Step 5: Drape the tarpaulin cover across the survival paracord that is tied to two large trees. Move the tarpaulin cover by moving its center along the paracord.
Step 6: Cut two pieces of 48-inch survival paracord. Tie one end of the first piece to the tarpaulin's central grommet where it meets the paracord. Tie the free end of the first piece to one of the large trees.
Step 8: Tie the second piece of 48-inch survival paracord to the central grommet of the tarpaulin cover. Then tie the other end of the second piece to the other large tree.
Step 9: Stab three tent stakes into the ground onto each side of the tarpaulin cover. Twist the stakes so that the hooks on top of each stake are facing away from the tarpaulin sheet.
Step 10: Cut pieces of 24-inch survival paracord, depending on how many tent stakes that you use. Tie the first piece to a stake. Then secure that piece's other end to a grommet in the tarpaulin. Do the same with the remaining pieces of 24-inch paracord until you are done.
How to make bootlaces
Step 1: Cut a 4-feet survival paracord. Slice the outer cover of the paracord with your knife carefully.
Step 2: Slowly pull the paracord apart to unravel the seven twines in the sheathing. Store the twines and the sheathing for later use.
Step 3: Tie a knot in each end of the twine that you want to use as your bootlace.
Step 4: Slip the twine into your boot's grommets to lace it as you usually do with any bootlace.
Step 5: Tie the ends of the twine securely in a double bow.
How to protect food from animals
Step 1: Put your food in separate plastic bags and seal them tightly. Place the plastic bags in your large bag and close it.
Step 2: Tie one end of the survival paracord to the straps of your large bag. Throw the other end of the paracord over a tree branch or limb that's 20 feet off the ground.
Step 3: Pull the large bag in the air till the top of the bag is several feet below the branch or limb. Tie the other end of the paracord to one of your tent stakes. This will raise the bag in the air so that animals cannot get your food.
This information will help you how to make things with a survival paracord to help you survive in the wild.
