When possible, include more foods in your diet that are high in omega 3. Omega 3 is one of the good fats that has many benefits. It can help reduce pain and swelling in an injury. It is a great source of protection against cardiovascular strokes and disease. It also has some benefits in treating attention deficit disorders.

Most processed foods contain trans fats, which need to be avoided at all costs. You place yourself at a higher risk for heart disease when you consume foods that have lots of trans fats. Consuming trans fats reduces the amount of the good cholesterol, or HDL, within your body, and increases the about of the bad cholesterol, also known as LDL.

You should always let your little one be your helper when deciding what foods to purchase or cook. Let them pick out their favorite fruits and vegetables. When you get home, you can have them rinse the fruits and veggies and get rid of any waste once you are finished chopping them up.

A good nutrition tip is to try to eat more alkaline based foods and avoid acid based foods. Eating a lot of acid based foods can upset your body's balance and make you become sick. Some good alkaline based foods are bananas, nuts and artichokes, just to name a few.

If you feel like you don't have enough energy to get through the day, try eating more fruits, grains and vegetables. These foods are filled with minerals and vitamins. They also have a very low fat content and are a great source of complex carbohydrates. They will help you get through your tired part of the day.

Celery sticks are among the most scrumptious snacks that you can eat during the day. Create a low fat dip that you can use with your celery sticks for a nutritious alternative to some of the more fattening snacks on the market. This will help in satisfying your hunger and improving your nutrition.

The way the body reacts to certain elements and foods still baffles scientists that have been studying nutrition for years.
