SEO is short for search engine optimization.
Search Engine Optimization is a way to optimize your website, so you are able rank in the search engines.
Because you have a website or wrote a blog does not mean that it will be found on the internet, just. There are billions of people out there who are trying to get their website, blog site, articles, etc. to rank on Google and have a hard time doing so, because they lack the proper knowledge of SEO or did a poor job implementing it. Getting ranked on Google is no easy task, and does not happen overnight.
A lot of businesses or individuals will pay a SEO Web Expert to help them rank better with SEO, but even with that, it does make your website come up as the # 1 article when searched for under those keywords. You have to have traffic go to your site, (traffic was discussed in one of my previous articles, be sure to take a look). With traffic going to your site, Google will start to rank it higher, because it is thinking (If Google could really think, right?) Wow, this site is important, people must like it. Traffic is # 1 but also how long people stay on your site is a critical factor too. Google times how long anyone stays on a site, and of course the longer they stay that will get your article ranked higher and higher in no time. The reason for that is Google believes you have valuable content causing readers to stay on your site for a long time. Google wants to make sure that you receive more traffic through search engine searches on that topic or keywords your article/website relate to.
The higher ranked and how frequent your site is visited; your website will increase in business, if you are selling in anything, or if you a blogger than you would have more social interaction to your blogs. If readers like what they see when they are there, they will most likely purchase or opt-in (also explained in a previous article, be sure to scroll down and check it out), or get more social interaction.
Let's take an example of what EXACTLY I am talking about.
Sally loves to cook and has her own restaurant and wants to start sharing her recipes through a blog that will hopefully capture individual's attention, and get more business at her restaurant.
Sally would need to write out the recipe and instructions, and provide pictures of what she is cooking, for this example, let's say it is Shrimp Enchiladas.
Sally would need to have keywords of: shrimp, enchiladas, shrimp enchiladas, Mexican food, etc. In her blog post, she would have to use these words in her article as well, so Google can pick up on it quicker.
Just because those words are searched for on Google, it does not mean Sally's blogs will come up in the search engines, she has to do more. Sally has to tell people that her blog exists and drive traffic herself to help her rank better in Google.
How do you tell people to visit your site?
Sally would want to tell her family and friends what she is doing, and ask if they can help out by going there and leaving a comment or so, because Google also picks up on social syndication; are people commenting and liking it, retweeting it, sharing it, etc
. Another good way is social media, Facebook and Twitter can be your best friends if you know how to work it properly. Tell your friends, and ask them to share it or retweet it.
So, if you were wondering why your site is not being ranked and want to do a better job and getting it out there to the world, be sure to implement these this little tactics and do it DAILY, you should start to see results.
1)Provide Valuable Content To Your Niche
2)Drive Traffic to Site (Tell Others).
