What are solo ads?

A lot of people hear that solo ads are the way to getting lots of sales and traffic to your site. And yes while that is true, there is also no guarantee of anything. It is a risk you will have to take, but if you are confident in your capture page, your product/service, and your follow-up there is no reason that risk cannot pay off for you.

So, lets first start back with the basics and actually define what a solo ad is. A solo ad is a promotional/advertising e-mail swipe that you put together to get sent out on another marketer's list.

For example, I am in the internet marketing business and I believe my company's products are beneficial to internet marketers that have a small business or to become an affiliate of the company too. So, I will want to target other marketers who have the same niche as me.

The finding part is easy, there are tons of individuals online that are selling solo ads, it is just up to you to do your research and find one you feel comfortable with. Solo Ads are a paid marketing technique, and you will not find solo ads for free anywhere. (Even with that advice I am sure that there will still be some looking for free solo ads...hehe)

How much do solo ads cost?

There are cheap solo-ads out there, but cheap is not always good. So, you have to ask yourself what your budget is. How much are you willing to invest in your business, but purchasing traffic?

Another tip I will give you is that you don't want to purchase solo ads from a site that has a lot of people selling the same product as you. The reason for that is there will be a lot of competition, and you will have to do more work to make yourself standout. If you are okay with a little friendly competition, then the more power to you.

Create your E-mail Swipe

So, once you have done your research you will want to create what we call in the Internet Marketing industry, a swipe. Your swipe should be something simple and not sell anything. Maybe don't even mention your company name, be as mysterious as possible. If you want to know how to write a swipe, I suggest searching on Google until you are comfortable with coming up with your own swipe content. I also highly recommend that you have some kind of tracking on your swipe, so you know when you get opt-ins where they are coming from and what your Return on Investment (ROI) is.

After you have come up with a swipe, you will simply give that to the other marketer with the list. Normally, they will give you a scheduled date and time your swipe will go out. So, when the time comes for your swipe to go out, watch the leads poor in, of course myself or no one can guarantee your opt-in rate or sales, that is soley up to you. It is up to you in the essence of: are you the only one selling that offer to that list, how well was your swipe written, and how well do you take care of your list once you have opt-ins?

Another tip of advice I'll give you before you leave too is don't overcomplicate the researching part; just go to Google, type in your niche and put solo ads next to it, and you should be set!
