We all know that the Fifty Shades of Grey books are coming to the big screen but what is unclear is how this story will work on the big screen. The books are almost all sex and there's really not a lot of story to tell. So how much sex is going to be shown on the big screen?

In the book E. L. James' has many vivid themes of S&M kinky sex and some of the material is quite graphic. It's hard to see how this will play out in the relationship of Christian Grey (Charlie Hunnam) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) on the big screen and the Fifty Shades of Grey Movie. The entire movie can't be based around sex like the books because this won't make for a very enjoyable movie. If this movie is to be successful, sex on the big screen may have to push the envelope of what has been done before. Despite the popularity of the books, sex the big screen is still quite squeamish for many viewers. The producers have to take that into consideration when making this movie. If the movie has too much sex there may be a big backlash. There will need to be a balance that director Sam Taylor-Johnson has to consider.

There's going to have to be a fine line between sex and a story in the films or the Fifty Shades of Grey Movie (movies?) may fail. The film is said to be R-rated but it should actually have an NC-17 rating as you don't want young people to see these movies. No one wants to give an NC-17 because it usually doesn't go well for movies. The problem with this is that the story in these books is really graphic and to turn that into a successful movie the ratings have to be addressed or the story has to be altered enough so it fits the screen. If it is altered, then the fans of the book may be furious at the end result.

There's also a possibility of releasing a steamier version of the movies for DVDs or as a special release but edit the main film so it gets the R rating. You also have to take into consideration that younger girls 14-16 may go and see this movie and parents probably don't want them to see it. The NC-17 rating would put an end to that but could kill the movie. The movies have to stay true to the books or this just isn't going to be accepted by the fans of the books. Many fans say the two cast members aren't "hot enough" for the movies already. The balance between the sex and the story is going to present a huge problem for the producers of this movie because of the fans of the books.

There's a fine line for these movies and it's hard to say how they will play out once released. The Fifty Shades of Grey Movie is set for a Aug 1st release in 2014 and in the autumn a trailer should be available.
