'Dumb And Dumber To' Coming Soon

If you haven't heard, the all-time great comedy film, Dumb And Dumber, is back for a sequel 20 years later! Introducing... Dumb And Dumber To. After a number of holdups and contractual issues, the filming has Dumb And Dumber To has officially begun and it should be good! I absolutely love the name with the "to" at the end and I find it to be pretty clever. Now, I was born in 1984 and this movie came out in 1994. Needless to say, it was one of my favorite movies growing up and Jim Carey was definitely my favorite actor as a child (I also liked Adam Sandler). Now, here we are almost two decades later, I am a grown man and I get the chance to write about this new movie. That's awesome. However, the question becomes, as with all sequels, will it be as good as the first one? We can only hope, but sequel history tells us it won't be.

Dumb And Dumber To

Word on the street is that the angry trucker, Sea Bass, and the blind boy with the bird, will both be returning from the original Dumb And Dumber for Dumb And Dumber To. This one single fact alone gets me excited because I have no idea what they are going to stage involving these characters, but chances are it will be good for a lot of laughs! Another rumor has the plot involving a long lost son and some kind of search for a kidney. Oh the possibilities! With many of the same people involved that were a part of the original, I have to believe this movie will at least be descent. However, am I always right? Not even close.

While the early reviews are touting Dumb And Dumber To as one that will keep you laughing for two hours straight, the fact is, the producers and marketers of the film are supposed to feed us those thoughts. That's how they sell tickets. I am not saying this to be a "Debbie Downer," the fact is the movie could turn out to be a masterpiece. I am just making sure I don't get my hopes up too high anticipating the most incredible comedy I have ever laid eyes on because that never ends well. Every time I pump myself up for a movie and have high expectations, I am seemingly let down. So the plan is to go into this movie with zero expectations and see what happens. Will I come out feeling completely fulfilled? Who knows, but either way by having no expectations, I can avoid being let down!
