When it comes to network marketing, a lot of people tend to have reservations about joining, either because they are thinking that the business is a scam or that the products are fake.
While proving a company is fraudulent or that their products and services are fake is another thing, but when it comes to networking, there are some things that should be cleared up.
1. Network Marketing is a Scam
The short answer is no. Networking is most definitely not a scam. It is a much-researched business strategy with years of science and math backing it up. The reason why more and more companies have opened a networking division is not because they like to con their customers-it is because the strategy shows results. It has a flexible, workable model where both the company and the workers will benefit from.
To prove that networking is a legitimate business, there are now degrees offered by top business universities and schools all over the world. Also, if networking was a scam, not one company using the strategy should still be standing today. The fact that it continues to boom means it is effective.
2. Networking Models are Designed to Make You Lose
This is another popular misconception about networking and it probably stems from the fact that many people think the industry is a scam. Opposite to what people believe, networking companies specifically design their compensation models to help and to reward those who truly deserve it, and not just everyone. A person cannot expect to give a couple hundred dollars and reap millions without doing anything. Even something as flexible and as relaxed as networking needs determination and dedication to work.
Networking models are often patterned after pyramids. A pyramid is a structure that will collapse if its bottom tiers are weak or broken. The top brick will only stay at the top when the bottom bricks are all well-placed and sturdy in their spots.
The same concept goes in networking. The higher-ups will only benefit if their lowers continue to work hard. In order for the lower members to work hard, they must be well-compensated by the higher-ups. This creates a symbiotic relationship where everyone ends up helping each other.
3. Networking is Easy
Now comes the biggest assumption of all... a career in networking is easy. This could either be true, or also, false. This career is how the person makes it to be. It can be extremely difficult for him or her, or it could be relatively easy instead.
Many people assume that just because a career in networking does not have a rigid work schedule, a specific work location, and a set of superiors to answer to, is that it is the easiest thing in the world to do. It is not. This only means that a truly inexperienced person will most likely be flustered because he or she will not know what to do. Add that to the fact that a person who works in networking will not have any salary or profit without any sales, and people might just realize how difficult and skill-specific the industry is.
Network marketing can be thought of as a lot of things, but these three things
