• Another way to tell whether the water bottle is BPA-free or not is by observing the plastic itself. Clear plastic bottles that are too hard and rigid often contain BPA. On the other hand, softer and slightly flexible plastic bottles are usually free from BPA.

• What if you already bought the water bottle and you suddenly realized that you do not know whether it is BPA-free or not? There is a trick to know if the water bottle is BPA-free. When you pour hot water into the bottle or when you put it in hot water, the bottle's design and color should remain the same and should not peel or fade. It should also not melt even the slightest bit. If you observe any of these, you should refrain from using the bottle and throw it away instead.

• You can also use a stainless steel water bottle that does not contain BPA. Stainless steel drinking bottles are also more durable than plastic bottles so you would be better off choosing them over plastic bottles.
