In the traditional ways of corporate America, the most important person in the company is you, yourself, and you. In order to make it to the top you have to step on others, if not you will be overlooked or passed over. You have to blame others so that no one sees your failures. But in network marketing it is the opposite, you need to help those that are underneath you so that you can get to the top. The more success the person under you has, the more successful you will be.
The same way goes for those who are supervisors, in corporate America no matter what the boss does he is the mean person, and he does not know what he is doing. The reason that the boss is never right is because whoever is driving the ship can't please everyone. But in network marketing you need to edify your upline for several reasons. First you need your upline so that you can point out his success to others who want to join the business. The fact that you are just starting in the business is usually not enough to get people to join, they need to see that someone is having success in the company. The second reason you need your upline is because you may not have enough credibility to get your family and friends to join. You may have borrowed two hundred dollars from your friend two weeks earlier and now you are telling him how you are going to make a million dollars with this company. Your upline now becomes your best friend because his success is giving you the chance to be successful.
In the traditional way of doing business you may continually give your best efforts only to get paid the same as that person who doesn't care. It just does not make sense to do that while in network marketing you get what you put into it no matter what others around you do. Your future is in your hands, not in the hands of a person who may not care for you or even like you. This is why network marketing is the way of the future. Even though the network marketing industry is only fifty years old it is actually just getting started.
I remember the first wave of people getting into home based business. I thought it was the data entry persons that got to stay home, and many years later that was still the mentality that I had. It wasn't until recently that my eyes were opened to the fact that home based businesses are the future and that they are here to stay.
