Generally speaking, there are three main "whys" that cause people to start blogs:

2) to generate legitimacy for their business
3) to sell products online

Many people who wonder how to setup a blog simply go to wordpress and get a free account so they can start blogging.

this is fine... the sad reality, however, is that most people get very little exposure to their content... and that's not enjoyable for anyone :(



How to Setup A Blog – Approach One – For Fun and To Help Others

This approach can be uitilized through wordpress, blogger.com or tumblr etc. The only challenge is that if you start doing really well and getting traffic, these site will prevent you from advertising to that traffic and effectively monetizing it.

Blogging for fun and to help others is noble and worthwhile. However, you have an opportunity to help others by offering products that you, yourself, use and can get paid an affiliate commission for by online marketplaces, like Amazon.com.

For instance, if I had a relevant book that you could read about how to setup a blog most effectively, I could to my affiliate coded amazon link and earn commission if you bought the product.

This is a win-win strategy and takes only minutes to setup once you have a blog.

I unfortunately haven't read such a book, so I skipped that step :p

The truth is, if your passionate about something and want to share it with the world, you can and should get paid to do it.. So why not position yourself to get paid and evenutally quit your job so you can blog full-time? What could be more rewarding as a career? :)
