# 3 The Tahquamenon Falls

In the Upper Peninsula, the Tahquamenon Falls flow inside the monumental Sate Park. There's certain poetry to the river and the falls that you simply must see. Two waterfalls make up this natural wonder, both of which find birth near Lake Superior, which sits in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Lower Falls are divided into five smaller sized falls, flowing about an island. The Upper Falls, with its 50-foot drop, are far more magnificent. Sending roughly 50,000 gallons of water over the edge per second, the Tahquamenon Falls are a treasure of majesty and beauty.
