As most mothers know having a child around while grocery shopping can be problematic. The fact is that going anywhere with a child can be hard since they need a lot to keep them happy. You've got those nappies, baby bottles, toys and a change of clothes to carry around regardless of where you go.

In my experience, even a basket built in the stroller doesn't always work. You always need more space to put in new things for the baby or for yourself. Fortunately though, I've managed to stumble on something that solved this particular dilemma of mine.

Discovering Stroller Hooks
A good friend of mine introduced me to stroller hooks while we were lunching out with our babies in tow. She placed her bag on this hook attached to the baby's stroller, allowing her to carry her purse more deftly. I was impressed and asked where managed to get one.

As I found out, these hooks are basically strapped on using Velcro on the handle of the stroller. You can actually detach it and place it somewhere else, depending on how you need it. These stroller hooks give you space to hang shopping bags, purses, bags or even my baby's bottle bag for easy access. It's fairly durable and manages to hold on to the item even when there's rapid sways due to the strolling movement.

Another thing I loved about these hooks is that they keep me from forgetting my purchases. After shopping, my baby and I often sit down by the coffee shop and rest our legs for a few. When I put down some of my parcels, I often forget to pick them up again when leaving. I actually lost a lot of purchases this way. Now, I just place them on the hook and still have them when I leave.

Where to Buy Stroller Hooks
My friend bought hers in the local mall but when I searched for the same item in Amazon, I was glad to find it there too. The item I got isn't an exact match for my friend but I have to say it's definitely better. For one thing, it manages to hold more weight at 6 pounds whereas my friend's hooks can only hold 3 pounds. The cost is also fairly reasonable. I loved the fact that it offer free delivery if you order two pairs or more. I actually ordered 5 pairs due to the cheap cost and found out that these hooks can be used for other purposes as well.

Mom's Verdict
As a full-time mom with a one-year old, I have to say that these stroller hooks have definitely made it easier for me. I can now walk around the mall with my baby and not carry around small parcels which can be a bother. Plus, it keeps everything within touching distance which is crucial if you have a small child. The minute they show signs of crying, I just whip out a few toys hanging on the hook and give it to them – the problem's gone!
