Fat Sick and Nearly Dead
Fat Sick and Nearly Dead is a documentary by Australian Joe Cross.
The documentary follows Joe Cross on his two month juice fast.
The reasoning behind juicing is to get a concentrated amount of nutrients
in one sitting. The story behind Fat Sick and Nearly Dead is basically
Joe Cross, had been getting fatter and fatter. Not surprisingly he was getting
sicker and sicker. As a businessman, he has been going in between America
an Australia for most of his life. This is why he chose to do his fast in the US,
as it is "home of the hamburger".
"I look like I've swallowed a sheep"
As a Naturopath the concept of juicing isn't new to me...
Fasting as a whole isn't even new to mankind!
Numerous religious groups fast around the world
and was a big part of life hundreds of years ago.

My Thoughts on Fat Sick and Nearly Dead
At first I almost turned it off...
Not because what he was saying in the documentary but at the
total ignorance of the people he would talk to on the street.
He would ask them what they eat and explain what he is doing and why.
Almost 100% of those people acted as if he was totally crazy and
not surprisingly they were all fat...
I didn't turn it off though because Fat Sick and Nearly Dead has a great message.
Joe Cross is also a great narrator, it's funny hearing a very Australian person
talking to Americans! I was very fascinating watching his body change over those
60 days – he lost an enormous amount of weight and looks YEARS younger.
There were a number of touching moments in Fat Sick and Nearly Dead.
There was a man that Joe Cross meets at a truck stop totally by chance
and he ends up becoming a big point in the documentary...
I don't want to give anything away but I would certainly reccommend watching
Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, especially if you are overweight and looking to make
serious changes in your life.
