What is Squidoo...

Squidoo is a website that allows you to make a webpage called a lens. This lens focus on a topic of your choice and gives you a lot of customization options.

It's a fast and powerful way to get plenty of free traffic because Google is practically in love with Squidoo pages. It tends to give them first page rankings even for squidoocompetitive keywords and you can make as many Squidoo lenses as you want.

This makes Squidoo a perfect back linking tool even more so than article submission sites. Think about what that means for a second. If your a veteran webmaster, then you know that the effectiveness of article marketing has diminished in recent years due mostly to the recent Google updates Panda and Penguin. Now I'm not saying that using article submitters don't work, but Google is much more likely to crawl your page if it's coming from an authority platform such as Squidoo.

Don't underestimate the power of that fact.

When starting your first lens, do one that promotes yourself as a leader and expert on your chosen topic. Then if you have an opportunity to offer, you can start promoting that.

When your ready to begin writing, the first thing you need to do is come up with a benefit driven headline. Writing headlines for Squidoo is no different than writing a headline for an ad or anything else.
