With the sudden increase of health and fitness awareness, people would think that having a career as a fitness coach will be financially rewarding. However, most often than not, personal trainers find their careers as something of a hit and miss, because while it's true that being a personal trainer to someone who's influential or wealthy can be financially rewarding, there are only a few such people in any area of the world, as well as the fact that these people won't take just about any personal trainer as their fitness consultant.
With considerable creativity and a bit of hard work, though, you can still make more money using your knowledge in health and fitness, without having the trouble of splitting your time between both ventures.
Finding a New Source
Believe it or not, even people with regular jobs are finding it hard to cope with the ever-rising prices of goods and commodities. Daily living is just getting more and more expensive, so it's not that surprising-and uncommon-to find people tending to two jobs, or having multiple part-time jobs, or even having a small business on the side.
For personal trainers, however, finding another part-time job might be difficult as their schedules depend on the schedules of their clients, which would mean they have to be flexible enough to allow some elbow room when their clients request a shift in the next sessions.
Fortunately, trainers can still start a small business without having to sacrifice their time away from their clients, families, or friends.
Supplements
As far as small businesses go, selling wholesale or retail is a great way to earn a little bit of extra cash. And, seeing as trainers are concerned with health and fitness, selling things like health and training supplements is something that will fit their main career well.
First off, they won't have trouble finding new customers , as their current training clients can also become patrons of their supplements, especially if the items the trainers will be selling are those that they take themselves. If their client already trusts their training routine to their trainers, of course they'll also trust their judgment in things that will make them better.
There's a variety of supplements to choose from, so trainers can sell one or all. Aside from weight loss or weight gain supplements and protein bars and shakes, they can also try selling supplements that complement a fitness enthusiast's lifestyle, such as vitamin supplements that strengthen the immune system, supplements that targets the muscles, the heart, and the like.
It could work both ways, too. Clients form personal training could become patrons of the personal trainers' wares, or those who bought supplements could be enticed to try fitness training instead. That's the beauty of having a side business that is connected to the main source of income.
Outside the Box
Personal trainers don't have to be stuck with just having a single career, especially if they feel like they're not earning enough . Try venturing into new areas that are connected with the original career and start selling health supplements.
