Boston Bombing and 911 flashbacks

My prayers go out the every citizen in Boston right now...more so those that were physically there injured, hurt and traumatized. May the victims who lost their lives souls rest in peace, especially the eight year old who ran out to congratulate his dad seconds before the bomb exploded. I have an 8 year old daughter that I just sent off the school and my heart is hurting for the parents of Martin Richard right now. I pray for the safety of not only my children daily, but everyone else's children! No matter where in the country this happens everyone feels that it has happened right in our back yard and it is a painful feeling everywhere.

If you were living in New York (anywhere in New York, not just Manhattan) on September 11th, 2001, then you are probably like me right now having horrible flashbacks and on edge. Comedian Patton Oswalt's reaction is one that is standing out right now..He is quoted as saying "Boston. F*****g horrible," his post began. I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, 'Well, I've had it with humanity.' But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths." He was touched by the number of people running to help their fellow Americans. Once again we had to go through seeing people running to the aide of others and that horrible 911 flashback resonates in our minds.

911 was one of the scariest moments in my life and I'm sure in the entire country. Here we are more than 11 years later and 2 explosions once again has brought back to the fog of smoke and people running and scattering with fear. Everyone not knowing what is going, searching for loved ones, and the 911 flashback being relived. I left New York and moved to Florida, not because of 911, but this just reinstates the fact that you are not safe anywhere from these terrorist. Just a few days before the bombing I was at the pool with my kids having a great time and enjoying life. I met a lady who was visiting relatives and she said she lives in a little town similar to "Mayberry from the Andy Griffin Show" in Michigan. She went on to say that she use to live in NYC and her husband was a great lawyer there so life was good....until 911. After 911 they moved to a small quiet town where the locals trade her husband eggs and farm animals for legal services. Really..I was in awe myself, but at the time I thought quickly how such a tragic event can affect the lives of people and have then do a total 360 degree lifestyle change. For me it is ironic how I met this person had a 911 flash back with her and saw how it changed her life forever, then the Boston bombing! What does this mean? I have not brought up 911 in a long time and here within days of talking and thinking about it these terrorist attack us again!

This is another wakeup call that we must be vigilant and observant. I doubt the piece of garbage that did this walked around with pressure cookers in their hands, but they had to have walked past lots of people with these bombs!! Some say they must have had then in "dark plastic bags or backpacks", whatever it may have been..they were able to get them there. I bet it was someone working all day with the crew setting up for the race! The last person you would assume would want to leave a pressurized killer pot! It is so frustrating knowing that we walk amongst these terrorist and they can plot their bombs right by our feet. When will it end? Why does it have to happen in the first place? It is so hard to digest what is happening in Boston right now, but worse wonder where will they strike next!
