Do you wish to know the four words, that will literally kill your business? These same four words can literally repel prospects and new business? Those four words are "I Already Know That." (Enter the cringe here.)
Let's face it. We are the Entrepreneurs. We are the CEO's. We know our products and services back and forth. So it seems quite easy for us to say "yes I already know that." How many times do you find yourself, when someone says, "we'll make sure you do this" your immediate response is "I already know that!" They say "Please make sure you complete that". You response "I already know that!"
" Well did you do this", your response is "I already know that!"
You have the picture right?
I don't know if you really get the power of what you're saying, when you say, I already know that! It's like you shut the other person down and you are making yourself seem inflexible. Just as sure as you are doing this you are impacting, hindering and surely damaging your business.
You're making yourself seem as if you're not really easy to work with. Because here's the thing, the moment that know or you feel you know everything, is when you don't know anything. So basically, I'm saying that to say, if you are someone who is constantly saying "I ALREADY KNOW THAT!" Cut it out! Just stop it!
Another area I want to address that whole contagious disease of "I already know that" is in your mentality. If you are an Entrepreneur and you have generated leads for your business, yet a new strategy is being introduced, but because you already know how your leads work, you shut down the new strategy even before you look at it, this can also be very dangerous to your business.
I remember implementing a Social Media Strategy, and I have to admit, it was a bit taxing and time consuming. I did it for some time. Stayed up for several nights implementing it and during that time, my colleague was saying "you should look at this strategy for social media." Because I was so set in my ways (and even stuck on stupid) and I had this whole mentality of "I already know that. The product he is going to show me is not doing to do much for me. Sure enough some time later, I happen to research the product and let's just say that his suggestions, had I not been in the "I already know that" mentality, I could have saved hours and been in the bed much earlier. You deserve better. Your business does as well.
Listen if you're looking to expand your business you wanna stop, and listen to the person. If they are saying, "Have you considered this way?" Take some time to stop, look and see, if you really "know that" before you say you do.
So you guys I really wanna offer you an opportunity to just let that go. "I already know that" is something I consider the most dangerous words in any language, let alone your business.
